Where guests stay and the shuttle
How guests find a hotel and record their stay, what your transport company sees, and how the shuttle plan comes together.
If guests are traveling, two questions come up: where should they stay, and how do they get to the venue? Here's how The Veil handles both, from your side.
How guests find a hotel
In their passport in The Veil app, guests open Lodging. Once you've booked a venue on The Veil, they see hotels near it, with a rating, a map pin and a link to book. These are suggestions from Google, not arranged by you, and guests are told to check the date and rate before booking.
When a guest books, they tap I booked this on the hotel, or add a place that isn't listed. Their stay then appears as a pin on their map.
If you have a room block or a favorite hotel, put it in your save-the-date message, for example "We have a block at the Riverside Inn, book by April 1". See Send save-the-dates and invitations by email.
What you can see
A guest's own booking is private to them. The passport tells them that the couple and other guests can't see it, and neither can your co-planners or coordinator.
What your transport company sees
If you book a shuttle or transport company on The Veil, they see, for each hotel, how many attending guests are staying there, and how many guests are still undecided. They never see names, rooms or prices unless you choose to share.
To give the driver a list at the door, turn on Share where guests are staying in Guests, then For your vendors. Your transport company then also sees who is staying at each hotel, with party sizes.

The switch only reaches businesses with a paid booking with you, and you can turn it off at any time.
The shuttle plan
Your transport company plans the runs on their side: each pickup's hotel, time, destination and seats, set against how many guests are at that stop. As more guests record their stay, their numbers get more accurate.
To tell guests about a shuttle time, send a quick update from the Guest Roster. See Message all your guests.
Good to know
- Only guests who use the passport can record a stay, so the numbers your transport company sees cover those guests only.
- Turning Share where guests are staying off stops names being shared straight away. Counts stay visible to your transport company.
